REV Ocean Call for Proposals 2028/29

REV Ocean invites researchers and collaborators to submit an initial application for sea time aboard REV Ocean during the period Q4 2028 - Q3 2029.

This first application round is intended to provide a concise overview of the proposed science, including the main objectives, expected impact, geographic area, preferred timing and key operational requirements.

Applications will be reviewed to assess their scientific relevance, alignment with REV Ocean's mission and priorities, and broad operational feasibility. Applicants progressing from this stage will be invited to prepare a more detailed full application for sea time.

REV Ocean's scientific programme is focused on generating knowledge and solutions that contribute to protecting and restoring the ocean. Current priorities include marine protected areas and biodiversity, marine plastic pollution, connecting science with decision-making, and developing the next generation of ocean experts.

Applicants are encouraged to review REV Ocean's scientific priorities and the vessel's available facilities and equipment before preparing their application. REV Ocean provides extensive research infrastructure, including laboratories, deep-sea robotics and other scientific capabilities.
